Show HN: I built Airlock, to sandbox your AI agent and know what it's doing
AI InsightAirlock introduces a virtual machine sandboxing solution for terminal-based LLM agents, signaling a shift in local AI security governance from manual approval prompts to system-level isolation. By restricting agents to project copies and providing visual diff reviews, it balances agent autonomy with code security.Key TakeawayLocal AI agent security is shifting from prompt approvals to VM isolation and diff reviews. Why It MattersLLM agents running complex tasks face unauthorized operation risks, and frequent prompts lead to fatigue. This tool mitigates developers' core security concerns when adopting autonomous coding agents by technically blocking access to real systems.Who's Affected- BeneficiaryDevelopersCan run highly autonomous coding agents locally with significantly reduced security risks.
- WatchingAI Agent Toolchain EcosystemSandbox isolation and security auditing may become standard features for terminal AI dev tools.
What's NextFuture observations should focus on the adoption rate of the tool within the developer community and whether mainstream LLM coding tools will natively integrate similar sandbox isolation mechanisms.Importance 70/100
